About

William Stapleton is an entrepreneur, financial services professional and President and CEO of Iron Rock Payments. Based in Frisco, Texas, he has built a career spanning private banking, client advisory work, business development and payment processing.

William grew up in Long Beach, California, in a working-class household shaped by his family’s Ecuadorian, German and Polish heritage. He began working at age 14, learning the importance of personal responsibility, persistence and financial independence. These early experiences established a strong work ethic that continued throughout his education and professional career.

At Long Beach Wilson Classical High School, William was active in academics and athletics. He competed in varsity baseball and water polo while earning honors for his academic work. He later attended California State University, Long Beach, where he studied Rhetorical Theory and Global Economics.

Throughout college, William continued working and completed financial-industry internships during academic breaks. These opportunities introduced him to brokerage operations, client service and financial markets. Following graduation, he began a career in private banking in New York and gained experience working with clients whose financial needs required careful planning, communication and operational coordination.

After several years in banking and advisory positions, William transitioned into entrepreneurship and payment processing. He now leads Iron Rock Payments, a company that provides payment solutions for retail, online, mobile and card-not-present transactions.

William also contributes educational articles addressing payment-processing fees, PCI compliance, fraud prevention, chargebacks, electronic funds transfers and changing card-network requirements. His approach emphasizes clarity, transparency and helping merchants better understand an often complicated industry.

Outside of work, William is an active competitive golfer. He is a member of Stonebriar Country Club and maintains a plus-two handicap. Golf provides another outlet for the discipline, patience and continuous improvement that have influenced his business career.
